Niolamia argentina is an extinct species of crypto-tortoises ( Cryptodira ) that existed in the Eocene in South America (from 48.6 to 37.2 million years ago) [1] . The only species of monotypic genus. Arthur Smith Woodward included him in the genus Meiolania , but later researchers did not support this classification [2] . Large terrestrial herbivorous turtles.
