Hurricane Debbie, tropical cyclone Debbie - the first tropical cyclone in the 2017 season near Australia , the strongest cyclone in the Australian region from 2014-2015 - after the Quang cyclone. Queensland and Airlie Beach Lowlands were ordered to leave their homes. In particular, late in the evening on March 27, just 12 hours before the storm hit land, 25,000 residents in the lowlands of Queensland were ordered to evacuate.
