Battle of Kings
After the death of Brother Stannis, King Robert Baratheon, Davos was sent by Stannis to negotiate with the Storm Lords to attract their fight to Stannis for the throne, but they either did not speak with Davos, or refused to join during the conversation, as they were betrayed to Stannis' younger brother, Renly Baratheon, Lord of the Storm Reach.
Present at the feast at which Maester Kressin died. The death of Meister was one of the factors that set Davos against the priestess of Melisandre. He was present at the burning of the idols of the Seven, then set out on Stannis’s instructions to sail along the northern coast of Vasteros in order to convey the message of Stannis to the common people. He joined the troops of Stannis after the death of Renly, participated in negotiations with Courtney Penrose, then by order of Stannis he drove Melisandr into the tunnel under the Storm Limit and became evidence of the birth of the shadow that killed Renly Baratheon.
Went with the fleet of Stannis to the Royal Harbor, participated in the Battle of the Blackwater. An experienced sailor, he suspected a trap, but fleet admiral Cyr Imrie Florent was deprived of such instinct, and the Stannis fleet suffered a crushing defeat. In this battle, the four eldest sons of Davos, who also commanded other ships or occupied important posts, were killed.
Storm of Swords
Having lost his own ship in battle, Davos miraculously managed to escape by swimming, diving under the chain and sailing under the burning ships. He held his breath for a long time and began to sink, which apparently led to loss of consciousness, because he woke up Onion Knight on a small rock in Blackwater Bay. For an indefinite period of time, Davos suffered from hunger, thirst, and bad weather, until, resigned to the inevitable, did not notice the sail of the galei “Plyunya Shayyala”. The ship delivered the knight to the Dragon Stone, where he intended to kill Melisandre, but the priestess foresaw his actions: Davos was captured and imprisoned.
He was later released and, for his loyalty to King Stannis, received the titles of Lord of the Rainy Forest, Admiral of the Narrow Sea and the king’s right hand. Around him were united people who did not wish to accept the methods of Melisandra, among them were Stannis cousin Ser Andrew Estermont and heroes of the Battle of Blackwater, Ser Gerald Gover and Rolland Storm. Their main achievement was the salvation of the king's nephew, Edrick Storm, from ritual burning. This act almost cost Davos no head, but he managed to convince Stannis that he should go to the Wall. He was among the people of Stannis in the Eastern Watch on the Sea, later sent by Stannis to negotiations at White Harbor.
Feast of the Vultures
In this book, Davos did not appear. Maester Pyzel told Cersei Lannister that Lord White Haven Wiman Manderley, who had already gone over to the side of the Iron Throne, executed Davos and hung his head and arms on the city wall. However, it is not known whether this was really Davos Seawort.
Dragon Dance
Davos, to his own happiness, did not make it to White Haven: the fleet was battered by the storm, and Sallador Saan landed the royal Hand on the Three Sisters. Here, however, Davos nevertheless ended up in prison - he was well remembered on the island of Dear Sister as a smuggler and caught when he tried to cross to the mainland. In a conversation with the local Lord Godric Borrell, Davos learned that Frey had already arrived in White Harbor. They brought with them the remains of one of his two captured sons, and now Manderley and Frey are preparing to conclude a marriage union. Yet, Davos managed to convince Borell to allow him to leave Sweet Sister. Upon arrival at White Harbor, Davos discovers that Lord Manderley is assembling an army. Seeing no other way to fulfill his mission, Davos decided to directly contact the lord. Wiman Manderley refused to give him a private audience and played a whole performance in which he declared Davos a traitor; by order of Lord Manderley Davos was taken into custody and then allegedly executed. However, a few days later, Lord Manderley met with Davos and informed him that a criminal similar to him was executed instead of him, and a cold reception was necessary for the sake of the preservation of the only son of Lord Wiman. Manderley showed Davos the mute squire Theon Greyjoy, Wex, who survived the storming of Winterfell and told the true story of that day using pictures. From his story, it became known that two of the Starks had escaped, and White Harbor and its standard-bearers are ready to take the vassal oath to Stannis if Davos gets them the true heir of Winterfell.
Winds of Winter
Davos was sent on an expedition in search of Rikon Stark, allegedly on Skagos.
