Ampelius ( Italian: Sant 'Ampelio ; died in 672 ) is the holy archbishop of Milan . Memorial Day - July 8th .

Saint Ampelius was Archbishop of Milan from 665 to 672 . He became archbishop after Saint Maurisily , but after the Milan cathedra remained vacant for four years due to political events. His life has not survived to our time.

At the end of the 16th century, the relics of St. Ampelius were acquired by Carlo Borromeo . They, like the relics of his predecessor, St. Mauresilius, are in the basilica of St. Simplician .
