Biography
In his youth, he coached the shot put, discus and spear throwing. He finally managed to determine his specialization quite late, when he got into the group with Peter Steglik [1] . Stanek's international debut came in the 2013 European Youth Championship , where he became fifth. After this tournament, he changed the technique of shot put, moving on to the circular mach method [2] .
In 2014, for the first time in his career, he showed a result above 20 meters and selected for the indoor world championship , where he took 12th place. He participated in the summer European and World Championships , where he could not overcome the qualification, yielding more than a meter to his best season results.
In the winter of 2016, he pushed the core for 21 meters, setting a personal record of 21.30 m [3] . However, two weeks later at the World Indoor Championships in American Portland, he again turned out to be far from this result, becoming 16th with an attempt at 19.46 meters.
At the 2016 Olympic Games in Rio de Janeiro, he took 20th place according to the results of qualification and could not qualify for the main competitions.
He achieved his first major career success in 2017, when he won the silver medal at the European Winter Championship with the best career result, 21.43 m.
In the summer season of 2017, he continued to improve his personal records. In June, at competitions in Germany, he first sent the core for 22 meters - 22.01 meters. He became the first pusher in Czech history to overcome this milestone. Stanek improved the previous national record of Remigius Mahura by 8 centimeters [4] . During the season, regularly showed results for 21 meters. He won first place at the European Team Championship and repeated the competition record - 21.63 m. He was close to the podium at the World Championships , but remained fourth in the attempt at 21.41 meters, losing only 5 centimeters to bronze medalist Stipe Junich [5] . 9 days after the final of the world championship, he repeated his country record again (22.01 m). From May to August 2017, Stanek performed at 18 starts, 15 of which showed results for 21 meters.
In February 2018, at a tournament in Dusseldorf, he broke the Czech record in the indoor - 22.17 m. This result at that time was the ninth in the world history of shot put in the halls and inferior to the world record of 49 centimeters [6] . At the indoor indoor championship , which took place a month later, Stanek came as the season leader, but showed his worst result since the beginning of the year (21.44 m). However, this result was enough to win a bronze medal.
He graduated from the Czech Agricultural University in Prague with a diploma in business and management [7] .
