Børns (real name Garrett Borns ; born January 7, 1992 ; Grand Haven , Michigan , USA ) is an American singer and songwriter . He began his career in 2013, and a year later signed a contract with the American label Interscope , which released his mini-album Candy in the same year, as well as his debut studio album Dopamine in 2015.

Biography
Early life and career
Garrett Bornes was born on January 7, 1992 in the city of Grand Haven , Michigan , USA. Growing up, Garrett became interested in art. At the age of ten, he was fond of magic tricks, and his friends called him "Garrett the Great." As a seventh-grade student at the White Pines High School, Bornes received the Golden Key Award at the Scholastic National Art Award as well as a $ 8,000 scholarship to study at Kendall College of Art and Design .
At the beginning of his musical career, Garrett Bourns performed under his real name at many events, including the TEDx conference, playing various music on the ukulele . In 2013, Bornes moved from New York , where he lived for several years, to Los Angeles , California. Within a few weeks after his move, the performer wrote the song “10,000 Emerald Pools” in collaboration with musician Jack Kennedy .
