Shooting
The idea of the film came to Vladimir Lert after watching the performance of the National Academic Drama Theater. Ivan Franco " Tevye-Tevel ." The title role of the milkman was played by Bogdan Stupka . Discussion of the future production suggested that the main role in the film adaptation would certainly be played by Bogdan Sillestrovich. He took an active part in the elaboration of each scene of the future film. However, the plan was not destined to materialize in connection with the death of Stupka on July 22, 2012. So on the set appeared Evgeny Knyazev . [1] [2]
The picture was shot in historical places near Kiev . Unique things and interiors of the late XIX - early XX centuries were used, including the house that was actually bought by Tevye back in 1873 - the hero of the stories of the classic of Jewish literature, Sholom Aleichem . The authors took five years to restore the Jewish life of that era in all details.
