Biography
Born in 1988 in Thessaloniki ( Central Macedonia , Greece ).
In 2009, she graduated from the Faculty of Computer Science and Biomedical Informatics of the University of Central Greece with a bachelor of science degree . The thesis on the development of a new system for telemonitoring the patient’s heart using wireless sensors was prepared under the guidance of Ilias Magloyannis.
She graduated from University College London , where she studied nanotechnology and regenerative medicine .
In 2010, she became a Fulbright Fellow and began studying at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign ( UIUC ), where she studied biological and tissue engineering.
Having started her doctoral studies at UIUC , Antoniadu was among 1,200 students selected by the European Space Agency ( ESA ) and the National Aeronautics and Space Administration ( NASA ) to work at the Ames Academy of Space Research to study the effects of radiation on the nervous system astronauts.
As a volunteer, she took part in humanitarian missions of the in Costa Rica , Peru and Uganda .
While in London, she co-founded Transplants Without Donors .
