History

The name of the aul comes from Adyghe. Shchebanehabl , where "habl" - aul and Shaban ("Shcheban") - Adyghe proper name [1] .

Aul was founded in 1800 opposite the Malagerner post. In 1852, there were 298 inhabitants, the ensign was controlled by the ensign Magomcheriy Akhedzhakov [2] . It was the center of the Shabano-Khablsky aul administration [3] .

Before the revolution, a mosque was located in the very center, after the Great Patriotic War it was converted into a village club. Six people from the village managed to make a pilgrimage to Mecca [4] .

In 1967, it was decided to build the Krasnodar reservoir , since then the eviction of the local population from the aul began, which ended in 1973 [5] . Residents were resettled in the newly formed city of Adygeysk [6] . On the occasion of the forcible resettlement of this and other auls, the State Council of the Republic of Adygea proposed introducing a memorial day [7] .
