Akillezz

Early years

Born March 7, 1994 in Livingston ( New Jersey , USA ) in a family of Greeks immigrants from the island of Lefkada ( Ionian Islands , Greece ) ^[1] . He was brought up by his grandparents, since both of his parents were engaged in business ^[2] .

At the age of seven, he began to write poetry.

As an eight-year-old student, John first became acquainted with the work of Eminem , which instantly aroused his great interest in hip-hop .

After graduating from high school in the Bronx ( New York ), he focused on his music career in collaboration with producer ^[3] .

Fluent in Greek ^[2] .

Career

In 2012, he founded the music label Akillezz Records ^[4] .

As a stage name, Arvanitis took the name Akillezz, which is an allusion to the hero of ancient Greek mythology Achilles ( English Achilles ). The singer explains the choice of his professional pseudonym as indicating his Greek origin, as well as some shortcomings that make up his personal Achilles heel ^[3] .

In 2015, Arvanitis registered the name Akillezz as a trademark .

In early 2015, the first two singles “One Level” and “Anything” from the album “Transgressionzz” became hits in clubs and on the radio of Los Angeles and Las Vegas . On April 8, the music video “Punching Bag” of model and actress Charlotte McKinney for the Akillezz song, which became the album’s most successful record, was released. In November, Akillezz in collaboration with Tony Yayo ( G-Unit ) released the single "Circus" ^[5] .
