Jacob Orleans

Jacob of Orleans ( Jacob of Orleans [1] ) - a Jewish scholar, Tosafist , lived in France in the XII century. He was killed in London on September 3, 1189 during the anti-Semitic riots during the coronation of Richard I the Lionheart . One of the prominent students of Rabbenu Tama (hence the nickname Heb. שׂיניילרואמ ת״ר ).

He lived in Orleans until about 1171, before being forced to move to London due to the persecution of Jews in Blois in 1171, when many teachers of Jewish law died as martyrs on the gallows [2] .
