Biography
Born on September 28, 1922 in Cherepovets (now Vologda Oblast) in a family of employees.
In 1940, with a certificate of excellent student, he graduated from high school No. 148 of the Leningrad district of Moscow and entered the Moscow Architectural Institute .
With the outbreak of war, he was drafted into the Red Army as a group of Komsomol members (volunteers) and enrolled in the 95th Rifle Regiment ( Efremov ); demobilized after two months. Since the fall of 1941 he studied at the Voronezh Institute [ what? ] , in the summer he returned to Moscow. In July 1942 he was drafted into the army, served in the 1st chemical brigade, from November 1942 until the end of World War II - in the air defense forces of Moscow. Demobilized in the fall of 1945.
In 1948 he graduated with honors from the Veterinary Department of the Moscow Veterinary Institute , taught at the Department of Clinical Diagnostics of the Institute until 1963 [1] . At the same time he was a scientific consultant to the Moscow Hippodrome (1952-1963) ; in 1950 he graduated from the University of Marxism-Leninism for scientists (at the House of Scientists ) .
From September 1 1963 to September 19 1968 he worked as a professor in the Department of Therapy and Clinical Diagnostics of the Veterinary Department of the Bashkir Agricultural Institute [1] (since 1965 - head of the department). Since 1963 - also editor-consultant of the publishing house " Soviet Encyclopedia " .
In 1968-1988 - Head of the Department of Therapy and Clinical Diagnostics of the Veterinary Department of the Ukrainian Agricultural Academy ; during this period, the department gained international recognition due to the training of specialists for a number of countries in Europe, Asia, Africa, North and South America [2] . At the same time - reviewer of the publishing house "Kolos" .
Scientific activity
In 1951 he defended his thesis [3] , in 1960 - his doctoratethesis. He died on November 28, 2013 and was buried in Kiev, at the Baykovsky cemetery.
The main areas of research:
- microelement deficiency, microelementoses in animals [1] .
Identified symptoms of microelement deficiency, developed recommendations for the diagnosis and prevention of microelement deficiency in cattle, including in industrial livestock complexes.
Member of the All-Union Coordinating Council for the Planning of Scientific Research in the Field of Veterinary Medicine; expert of the Higher Attestation Commission under the Council of Ministers of the USSR.
Prepared three doctors (including S. A. Ivanovsky,L. P. Okuntsov [1] ) and sixteen candidates of sciences (including N. Yu. Musina, S. Sh. Syusina, R. Sh. Kadyrov, L. S. Novostrueva, G. I. Ivanovskaya, Z. A. Urmanov [1] ). The author of more than 370 scientific works, 5 monographs, reference books, 3 dictionaries, 17 teaching aids and textbooks for universities. He participated in the writing of the textbook “Diseases of Sports Horses,” published in German [2] . Consulting editor, co-author of the first Soviet veterinary encyclopedia in six volumes. Editor and co-author of the Veterinary Encyclopedic Dictionary (1981).
