History

In addition to the bust of Kulikov, several busts were installed in Semikarakorsk to famous people of the city and region: writer V. A. Zakrutkin, builder A. A. Arakantsev, head of a fishing farm I. V. Abramov. The author of these busts was Semikarakorsky sculptor, artist Ivan Ivanovich Maslichenko.

On September 23, 2007, on the day of the city in Semikarakorsk, a bust was opened on the Pionerskaya Square to the writer B. N. Kulikov.

B. N. Kulikov was born in the village of Semikarakorskaya. He studied at the school, the history department of Rostov State University, after which he lived and worked in the city of Semikarakorsk.

He began writing and publishing during his university years. The first book "Poems" Kulikov was published in 1964 by the publishing house "Young Guard". In the 60s, he was the author of collections of poems: “Haymaking Time” (1968), “Verbohlest” (1968), in the 70s “Wonderful Month” (1972), “Kulikovo Field” (1973), in 80 e - "Udal" (1983), "Freemen" (1984). Some of his works are devoted to his hometown of Semikarakorsk. He also wrote stories and stories. In 1975 his book of prose “My dear people” was published, in 1976 - the book “Bystrina”.

Over the years, B. Kulikov worked in the Kustanai region in the Altai, but constantly returned to his hometown. Vasily Shukshin , A. Larionov, N. Rybnikov and others called on the writer to visit him.

Citizens honor the memory of the poet. The name of the writer and poet was given to the street of the city of Semikarakorsk. Annually at the end of August in Semikarakorsk, there are evenings “August Kulikov”, dedicated to the memory of B. N. Kulikov [1] , since 2007 the city has been annually holding the holiday “Kulikovskaya Autumn” [2] . In the days of the writer's memory, citizens gather at the monument and read his poems.

Description

The bust of the writer Boris Nikolaevich Kulikov is set on a brick pedestal. Near the monument there is a stone block, on the flat surface of which a poem of the writer is written: “Where am I from? From Don! Where is the height and spaciousness, where the sweet chimes are Semikarakor, where the field is wide, the work is red, where the song is far-distantly audible ... ”.

The territory around the monument is landscaped.
