Biography

Louise Sophia is the daughter of Count Johann Reinhard II of Hanau-Lichtenberg (1628–1666) and the Palatine Graffiti of Anna Magdalena of the Palatinate-Bischweiler (1640–1693). On September 27, 1697, Princess Louise Sofia married Count Friedrich Ludwig Nassau of Otweiler (1651-1728), becoming his second wife. The marriage remained childless: in 1698, Louise Sofia gave birth to a dead son. The eight daughters of Count Friedrich Ludwig from a previous marriage did not have the right to inherit power in Nassau-Otweiler, and with the death of Count Friedrich Ludwig, the weaver line of the Nassau House was cut short. Nassau-Otweiler became the heir to Nassau -Uisingen . Sophia Louise remained a widow in Otweiler , which ceased to play any political role.
