Story
A young woman, Paola, after moving from her native village to Rome and a short period of seamstress work, is forced to earn a living by prostitution, serving wealthy people. Such an existence is disgusted with her. This feeling is especially enhanced when she meets the kind and courteous florist Giovanni. Fearing that he would know her occupation, and wishing to start everything from a clean slate, Paola returned to her relatives in order to “cleanse” and wait for the arrival of her beloved. However, the family meets her coolly, as rumors about her way of life have been around the village for a long time. In addition, one of the local residents begins to blackmail the girl, seeking closeness in exchange for the promise to tell nothing to Giovanni ...
