Tatsuya Mizuno ( Japanese 水 野 竜 也 ; June 2, 1981 , Ibaraki ) is a mixed-style Japanese fighter , a representative of the medium and light heavyweight categories. Performs at a professional level since 2006, is known for participating in tournaments of such fighting organizations as Pancrase , Dream , M-1 Global , ONE Championship , etc.

Biography
Tatsuya Mizuno was born on June 2, 1981 in Ibaraki Prefecture . During his studies in high school, he became seriously interested in judo , and subsequently achieved a black belt and third dan in this discipline. In 2005, he began performing in mixed martial arts among amateurs, in particular, he performed at the fifth amateur Shooto tournament.
He made his debut in MMA on a professional level in July 2006, defeated his opponent with technical change in the first round. At first, he fought in the Pancrase organization, in particular, he defeated compatriots Yuji Sakuragi and Masayuki Kono here , but lost to the Brazilians Tiago Silve and Asueruu Silve , was a contender for the King of Pancrase champion title.
In March 2008, he fought in the first tournament of the newly formed Japanese organization Dream , in a duel with the Croatian Mirko Filipovich , he was defeated by technical knockout already at 56 seconds of the first round.
In the period 2008-2009 he also worked closely with the Russian organization M-1 Global , held a total of five fights here, of which he won three. Then he defeated Ilir Latifi at the K-1 tournament in Sweden by technical knockout, after which he resumed cooperation with Dream, where he became a participant in the light heavyweight grand prix - at the semi-finals stage he successfully passed the Dutch kickboxer Melvin Manhuf , but lost in the decisive final match to another Dutchman Geghard Musashi , caught in a strangulation from behind [1] .
At the New Year tournament Dynamite !! 2010 Mizuno met with the famous Russian heavyweight Sergey Kharitonov , already at the beginning of the first round he missed a strong knee hit in the head and was knocked out [2] . In July 2011, at the next tournament, Dream entered the ring against the representative of South Africa, Trevor Prangley, and beat him by technical knockout thanks to effective knees on the body [3] .
Starting in 2012, Tatsuya Mizuno performed alternately with the ONE Championship in Singapore, and went down to the middleweight category. The most noteworthy is the battle against the Brazilian veteran Renatu Sobral , who defeated him in 31 seconds by performing a painful “elbow lever” technique [4] [5] .
