Not far from the grove is the Cheryomushki microdistrict [2] . Grove "Red Spring" has environmental, cultural and recreational value [1] . In 2017, the grove was given the status of a specially protected natural area of local importance [1]

History
The first plantings appeared here in 1880. In honor of the chieftain, the grove was named Krasnokutskaya. In 1913, a sanatorium was opened here for the treatment of people with tuberculosis. In Soviet times, the name of the grove changed - it began to be called "Red Spring". In the 1940s, the number of trees in the grove decreased significantly due to ongoing felling. In 1942-1943, a cemetery of servicemen from Romania and Germany was located on this territory. Initially, the area of the grove was 50 hectares, now the area has decreased and as of 1992 there were 44 hectares of conservation area [3] . In the grove is a monument to the Afghan soldiers. In 2012, the state of the forest park was studied [3] . After a large-scale deforestation for construction, which caused massive protests by citizens, in 2014 the Novocherkassk mayor’s office organized landscaping of the grove, during which steps, pedestrian walkways were repaired, benches were set up and streets were put in order. lighting. 60 juniper bushes were planted and irrigation systems for a flower bed, which is located on the territory of the grove, were mounted. In front of the monument to the Afghan soldiers, eternal fire and guns were installed. Two sports grounds were arranged for adult visitors to the forest park, and a playground for children.
Description
On the territory of the conservation zone, ash is represented by two species - lanceolate ash and ordinary ash . In this area, pedunculate oak grows, smooth elm and squat elm , and three- prickled gledia is also found [3] . White acacia, cherry plum , pine , thorns , bird cherry , hawthorn , maple , elm , poplar , and ordinary plum are growing [1] . The undergrowth of the grove is represented by black elderberry (lat. Sambucus nigra ), tree-like caragana (lat. Caragana arborescens ) and tanning squump (lat. Cotinus coggygria ). Many of the trees that grow here have been damaged by pests, diseases and deforestation. Among pests, species such as unpaired silkworms and hawthorn leafworms are most represented [3] .
