Biography

He began his career in art, performing in vaudeville and on the stage. Since 1921, as an actor, he acted in films. In 1923, he directed his first silent film.

From 1930, he worked at Chesterfield Pictures, then at Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer .

In 1967, he left the film industry. In total, he shot more than one hundred and eighty films, including dramas, comedies, westerns, melodramas, costumed and adventure films, as well as several films from the series about the adventures of Tarzan .
