Story

The plot is based on the 1971 novel by Zhivko Chingo - these are the memories of Lem Nikodinoski, who at the very beginning of the film are taken to the hospital after a heart attack. Lem recalls his childhood: how he lost his parents and ended up after the end of the Second World War in an orphanage, where iron discipline reigned. The director of the shelter, Ariton, constantly tried to pit the orphans with each other, considering them to be the enemies of the new government, and forced them to follow the new ideology. Together with a charismatic friend, Isak Lem becomes one of those children who gives resistance to Ariton without losing self-esteem.
