Panayot Christo ( Greek: Παναγιώτης Χρήστου ; 1917 , Ioannina - 1996 , Thessaloniki , Greece ) - Greek statesman, Minister of Education of Northern Greece (1973-1974), theologian, patrologist, professor of patrology at Aristotilyovskiy University .

Biography
Born in 1917 in the village of in the number of Yanina .
He graduated from the Theological Institute of the University of Athens , and later studied in graduate school at Yale and Boston Universities . In 1951, he defended his doctoral thesis at the University of Athens and was left in the rank of assistant professor . In 1954 he became a professor of patrology.
From 1963 to 1964 he was the dean of the theological faculty, and from 1966 to 1967 he was the dean of the university.
From 1966 to 1989, he was the Director of the Patriarchal Institute for Patristic Studies, and from 1989 to 1994, the Director of the Center for Theological and Religious Studies in Thessaloniki.
During the military coup of the “black colonels” , from 1966 to 1967 he was the Minister of Northern Greece, and from 1973 to 1974 - the Minister of Education.
In 1974, after the fall of the military junta and the restoration of the republican form of government, he was removed from his professorship at the university and devoted the rest of his time to patristic studies.
He died in 1996 in Thessaloniki.
