Netherland Dwarf Rabbit is the smallest in the world breed of ornamental rabbits, which originates from several Dutch dwarf rabbits that came from the Netherlands to the UK after the Second World War.
The permissible weight of adult Dutch dwarfs by standard should not exceed 2.5 pounds (1.134 kg).
The standard of this breed has been adopted by the BRC (British Rabbit Council) [1] - the British Council of Rabbit Fighters since 1950, and the ARBA (American Rabbit Breeders Association) [2] - the American Association of Rabbit Fighters since 1969.
In Russia, rabbits of this breed have been bred since 2014.

Physique and Type
The body is short, compact, stocky, with a wide chest and broad shoulders. Front feet short and straight. The weight of an adult animal is no more than 1.134 kg.
Ears
Erect, well-closed, well-pubescent, slightly rounded at the tips. The ideal length of the ears - 5 cm. Permissible - up to 7 cm.
Head
Round, wide.
Eyes
Round, large, expressive, eye color should match the color of the color.
Color
Any color that matches the standard colors of rabbits of other breeds is allowed. The colors of Dutch dwarfs are divided into 5 groups as follows:
- monophonic: black, blue, chocolate (havana), purple; they also include white blue-eyed and white red-eyed colouration (in Great Britain and the USA, where the standard for Dutch dwarfs was adopted, white animals are not isolated into a separate breed, "Hermelin");
- point: Siam, Marder and Tyurin;
- agouti: agouti (chestnut agouti), opal (blue agouti or pearl color), lux (purple agouti or lynx color), chinchilla and blue chinchilla ("squirrel");
- tan: ogniyevki (“tan”), ottery (“otter”), white-eared (“fox”), including white-eared marder.
- other colors: orange, reindeer ("faun"), steel, Russian (Himalayan). This group also includes all other unnamed colors that are acceptable in rabbits of other breeds.
Wool
Soft, short, thick, tight to the body.
Condition and Care
Smooth, good coat, no signs of any disease.
