Biography

He was born on October 14, 1897 in the village of Staroe Semenkino, now in the Klyavlinsky district of the Samara region of Russia, into a Russian family [2] . Before serving in the army, he worked in Samara at the Shersnev iron-foundry and pipe plant. He joined the RSDLP (b) in 1914. At the beginning of 1916 he moved to Petrograd and worked as a mechanic at the military armature-electric plant and the Old Lessner plant. Military Service

World War I and Revolution

May 15, 1916 was called up for military service and sent to the 180th Infantry Regiment in Petrograd. In September, he deserted from the regiment and went to the Urals, to the Nevyansk plant, where he lived under the name Vyacheslav Ivanovich Yakovlev.
