Geographical position
Issyk is located in the northeast of Badakhshan, in the highlands, on the right bank of the Vakhandarya River, near the confluence of the Darayi-Issyk River, about 242 kilometers east of the city of Faizabad , the administrative center of Vilayat. The absolute height is 3240 meters above sea level [1] . The nearest settlements are the village of Ptukh (upstream of the Wahandarya ), the village of Nestkhur (downstream of the Wahandarya ).
Population
As of 2003, the population was 104 people. The national composition is dominated by the Vakhans [2] .
