Early life and education
Dhavan was born into a family of Indians (professing Hinduism ) [3] [4] in Bramhall, Stockport [2] .
He studied at the Lane-Johnson drama school in Manchester and attended Aquinas College in Stockport [2] .
Career
Television
Dhavan starred in several television shows in the UK. He had a minor role (Azmat Madaridi) in the television series "The Worst Witch in the College of Wizards," as well as in the second and third seasons of the children's television series "Out of sight". He appeared in the mini-series "The Last Train" (1999) and played a guest role in the soap opera " Residents of the East End " [5] . In 2008, he starred in ITV's Strained Tension (Ben Chandrakar) with Jody Whittaker and Lawrence Fox . In 2010, “ Runaway Job ” was released in the USA, where Dhavan had one of the main roles; the series was closed after one season [6] . In November 2013, he appeared as the first director, Waris Hussein, in “ Adventure in Space and Time ”, filmed in honor of the 50th anniversary of the series “ Doctor Who ”. He also played the role of Paul Jatry, a 22-year-old young man who had a relationship with a woman twice as old, in the first season of the BBC One television series The Last Tango in Halifax.
Theater
Dhavan was the first actor to play Aktar in Alan Bennett’s play “ History Lovers ”. After the role of Aktar in the original production, he re-performed this role on Broadway , in Sydney, Wellington and Hong Kong , as well as on the radio and in the film [7] [8] .
