Biography
Born 1914 in St. Petersburg . In 1939 he graduated from the Sverdlovsk Mining Institute , with a degree in geophysics . In the period 1940-1941 he worked as part of the geophysical party. Since the beginning of World War II, he took part in the hostilities of the Kalinin Front , and was injured.
From 1944 to 1945 he worked at the Sverdlovsk Mining Institute. In 1945 he defended his thesis, after which the Ministry of Energy sent the candidate of geological and mineralogical sciences Nikolsky to the Donetsk Industrial Institute . Until 1951, he worked as an assistant professor and head of the department of geology, made significant efforts to restore the educational, methodological and scientific activities of the department of geology in the post-war period.
He founded and in the period 1951 to 1976 he headed the department of exploration of mineral deposits (exploration MPI). At the same time, in 1947-1956, he headed the Department of Geology and Intelligence . In 1964 he defended his doctoral dissertation. From 1976-2000 - professor of the Department of Intelligence MPI.
Research Work
In the period 1948-1951, next to D.N. Ogloblin, he directed a set of works on the restoration of geological and mine surveying documentation of the Nikitovsky mercury field lost during the war. In 1960, Professor Nikolsky was engaged in identifying patterns of the location of mineral deposits and forecasting during prospecting and exploration in Donbass , together with B. S. Panov, he investigated the ore content of the Nagolny Ridge .
Published over 60 scientific papers. Author of textbooks for university students “Geology and exploration of mineral deposits” (co-authors B. S. Panov , V. A. Korchemagin ), “Structures of ore fields” (co-author B. S. Panov , published after additions by scientists of the Freiburg Mining Academy ) .
Prepared 3 doctors of 6 candidates of sciences .
