Creation History
The German small arms company Heckler & Koch has developed a new HK433 assault rifle as a potential replacement for the HK G36 assault rifle for the armed forces of the Bundeswehr. The public about the new weapon was first reported in the German magazine Europäische Sicherheit & Technik No. 2 2017 [1] . The main complaints about the G36 were problems with reliability in extreme conditions, as well as with shooting accuracy after 300 meters (150 in extreme conditions), which was the main reasons for creating a new assault rifle.
Construction
The HK433 is a gas piston with a gas piston, with a short stroke, made separately from the bolt carrier, and locked in an optimized form with a butterfly valve on 7 lugs. This weapon combines the design features of the G36 and HK416 assault rifles using the gas exhaust system with a short stroke of the gas piston from the G36 and the lower receiver of the HK416 type, as well as a quick-release barrel.
The receiver consists of two parts - the upper (upper receiver) and the lower (lower receiver). Receiver HK433 is made of aluminum, as opposed to plastic in G36. The design of the rifle is flashing; the lower part of the receiver can be replaced in order to select the types of magazines - from G36 or from M16 / M4 (standard STANAG 4179).
The barrel is locked by turning the bolt. The main caliber of the HK433 is 5.56 × 45 mm NATO, but the rifle will also be available for other cartridges, for example, NATO 7.62 × 51 mm , 7.62 × 39 mm , .300 AAC Blackout. HK433 rifle is a modern modular system with low weight and small size. The HK433 combines the characteristics of 3-x assault rifles at once — the G36, HK416, and an appearance similar to FN SCAR or Bushmaster ACR .
Presumably, the rifle will be available in two colors: in classic black or brown-green "desert" color.
Barrel
The trunks of the HK433 are modular, quick-detachable, and made in 6 configurations: 11, 12.5, 14.5, 16.5, 18.9 and 20 inches (28, 32, 37, 42, 48 and 51 centimeters). The trunks themselves are chrome plated, made by cold forging, and according to the developer’s company, more than 25,000 shots withstand technological improvements (for the HK416 - 20,000).
