Ronale "Rona" Chapchuk Ambrose ( born Ronalee Chapchuk "Rona" Ambrose ; born March 15, 1969 , Alberta , Canada ) is a statesman of Canada . In 2015-2017, the leader of the official opposition and interim leader of the Conservative Party . In 2006-2015, she held a number of ministerial posts in the conservative government of Canada.

Born in a small town in the province of Alberta. Father, James Chapchuk, is of Ukrainian origin [2] . He spent part of his childhood in Brazil. In addition to English, he speaks Spanish, Portuguese and French.
She received a Bachelor of Arts in Gender Studies from Victorian University and a Master of Political Science from Alberta University.
In the 2004 election, she was first elected to the Canadian House of Commons from the county in Alberta and was re-elected in all subsequent elections. After the conservative government came to power in 2006, she took up the post of Minister of the Environment, becoming the youngest woman in Canadian history, part of the cabinet [3] . Before the Conservative Party left the opposition, she held a number of ministerial posts, sometimes 2-3 posts at a time.
After the conservatives were defeated in the 2015 elections, their leader and Prime Minister Stephen Harper resigned from both posts. Rona Ambrose was approved as the interim leader of the Conservative Party and took over as official opposition leader. She refused to run for the presidency of the Conservative Party on May 27, 2017.
On July 4, 2017, she resigned from the post of deputy of the House of Commons in connection with her decision to resign from federal politics.
