He was founded and headed by Sergey Sergeevich Bryukhonenko [1] . The institute was closed by a decision of the Presidium of the Academy of Medical Sciences in September 1948 after the notorious August ("Lysenko") session of the Academy of Agricultural Sciences [1] .
