Biography
Born March 25, 1960 in Sverdlovsk .
In 1990 she defended her doctoral dissertation.
From 1984 to 1991 - she worked at the Ural University .
Since 1991 - working at McGill University in Montreal (Canada).
Scientific and social activities
Author of more than 60 scientific papers in the field of algebra.
For solving Adyan's problem of the existence of a finitely defined group with identity and an insoluble equality problem, she was awarded a medal of the USSR Academy of Sciences for the best student work.
Solved Kargapolov's problem of the algorithmic undecidability of the universal theory of a class of finite nilpotent groups.
In 1998, together with A. G. Myasnikov, a positive solution was obtained to one of the oldest problems of model theory, the Tarsky problem of the coincidence of elementary theories of non-Abelian free groups of various ranks, and a resolving algorithm was constructed for the elementary theory of a free non-Abelian group.
Since 1997, he has been a member of the editorial board of the international journal International Journal of Algebra and Computation.
