Content
Geography
The village is located 8 km south of the center of the village of Borisogleb and 12 km northwest of Murom .
History
The first mention of the village of Stepankovo as part of the Sannikovsky parish is in the salary books of 1676. It had a court of clerks, 41 peasant courtyards and 15 bobyl yards. At the end of the 19th century, the village had 134 yards [2]
In the late XIX - early XX centuries, the village was part of the Novokotlitsky volost of Murom district .
Since 1929, the village was part of the Chaadayevsky village council of the Murom region , since 2005 - as part of the Borisoglebsky rural settlement

In the village there are Stepankovskaya basic secondary school, feldsher-midwife station [10] .
