Apostolic Nuncio in Senegal

The Apostolic Delegation of Dakar , with jurisdiction over all French continental and island colonies (with the exception of parts of North Africa), was established on September 22, 1948, in the log of Expedit et Romanorum Pontificum of Pope Pius XII .

On May 3, 1960, according to the Pope John XXIII Decet Nos log , the Apostolic Delegate of Dakar was named the Apostolic Delegate of West Africa with jurisdiction over the following African countries: Senegal , Upper Volta , Ivory Coast , Dahomey , Guinea , Mauritania , Niger , Sudan , Togo , Ghana , The Gambia and Sierra Leone .
