    History

    In the city of Konstantinovsk, Rostov Region, on Lenin Street, 8, an unusual three-story brick building is located. The merchant Nikolai Ivanovich Sivyakov, at his own expense, erected a mansion in the Art Nouveau style with pseudo-Gothic elements on the high bank of the Don River. The building was built in 1906. Merchant N.I. Sivyakov was one of the most respected people in the village of Konstantinovskaya. He traded in manufacture, owned trading shops in the villages of Nikolaev and Konstantinovskaya. The building was built on a slope in the direction of the river, why its right side had semi-basements, and the courtyard of the left side was half the first floor. The windows in the building were of different sizes and shapes - semicircular, rectangular, narrow, wide, low and high. The main entrance from the street led up the stairs to the second floor of the house, where a billiard room, study rooms, a living room, and a long balcony were arranged. On the third floor of the house were bedrooms and a bathroom. The black entrance from the back of the house led to the first floor, there were utility rooms, a kitchen, a servant lived.

    In 1914, Sivyakov brought a car from the Paris exhibition, the former first in the villages of the region. In his house, he arranged a garage for the car.

    During the years of Soviet power, the building was nationalized, from the 60s of the XX century to this day there is a children's art school in this building. In accordance with the order of the GU Regional Inspectorate of December 31, 2002, No. 124, the mansion of the merchant Sivyakova was assigned to architectural monuments of regional significance.

    Description

    The three-story brick mansion of Sivyakov in the city of Konstantinovsk was built in the Art Nouveau style, has an asymmetric shape, a gable roof, a through passage into the courtyard from its left side, and basement rooms. The main entrance is made from the front of the facade and has a canopy over the second floor. There are no side windows in the building.

    During the construction of the building, lime mortar, sand, clay and chicken eggs were used for bricking the building [1] .
