Club career
Laines is a pupil of the capital " America ." On March 2, 2017, in the Mexico Cup match against the Santos Laguna , Diego made his debut for the main team at the age of 16, replacing Gerson Torres in the second half [1] . On March 5, in a match against Leon , he made his debut in the Mexican Example , replacing Jose Guerrero in the second half [2] . On August 5, 2018, in a duel against Pachuca , Diego made a double, scoring his first goals for America. [3]
In early 2019, Laines moved to the Spanish Betis , signing a contract for 5 years. The transfer amount amounted to 14 million euros [4] .
International Career
In 2017, Laines took part in the junior world championship in India . At the tournament, he played in matches against teams of Iraq [5] , England [6] , Chile [7] and Iran [8] . In a duel against the English, Diego made a “double”.
On September 8, 2018, in a friendly match against the national team of Uruguay, Laines made his debut for the Mexican national team , replacing Elias Hernandez in the second half [9] .
In 2018, as part of the Mexican youth team, Laines took part in the CONCACAF Youth Cup . In the tournament, he played in matches against Nicaragua [10] , San Martin [11] , Jamaica [12] , Grenada [13] , Panama [14] youth teams , El Salvador [15] and the USA [16] .
