Butters

Butters first appears in the first episode of the series ( 101 ), its appearance is slightly different from the usual appearance of Butters in other seasons. In the second series ( 102 ) during the rehearsal of the school play, you can notice that one of the boys, in the role of a pioneer, beats Pip . He wears a raccoon hat, but you can guess from the color of his hair and clothing that this is Butters. However, the image does not begin to unfold immediately: he pronounces the first word in the series " Playhouses ", passing the note through the class. In the feature film South Park: Bigger, Longer and Out of Cut , Butters touches Cartman , who saw Terrence and Phillip's film, on his orders. The original name of this character was "Puff Puff" ( English Puff Puff ) ^[1] . For the first time, the character of Butters is significantly developed in the series 308 “ Two naked guys in a hot bath ”, when he appears in the form of one of the “Melvin” - “the main morons of the school.”

The character of Butters was written off from the director and animator of South Park Eric Stoff . This is hinted at in the 417 series when Butters makes painted figures of Stan , Kyle , Cartman and Kenny for their Christmas cartoon.

As a rule, Butters is so naive that he does not always adequately perceive what is happening around. For example, in episode 514, after his mother tried to kill him, he returns home, not realizing what happened. In the same episode, he talks with a grim trailer driver about a song sung in his favorite restaurant. However, in episode 714, we suddenly see Butters capable of clever and deep thoughts about people's relationships. Despite all the difficulties, Butters remains optimistic.

We first see Butters singing in episode 409 when he unsuccessfully auditioned for Cartman's boy band. Subsequently, in episode 907 , Butters tries to perform the song “Lu Lu Lu” at the school talent contest, which she previously sings in episode 812 . In series 709, it appears that Butters has a drum kit on which he plays well. In addition, Butters in episode 1204 appears on the list of the most watched videos on YouTube, with the song “what what in a butt” - everyone mistakenly begins to think that this is a little blue boy (The clip for the song, like the song itself is spoofed: Samwell - “ What What (In the Butt) " [1] ).

In episode 709, Butters instantly multiplies 2 multi-digit numbers named by him as Cartman.

Perhaps the most outstanding achievement of Butters is the salvation of all imaginary characters that have ever existed, as well as the Pentagon , Stan, Kyle and Cartman in the episode Imagination, Episode III . During the battle between good and bad imaginary characters, he as a “chosen one” imagines things that should help a good army, and they immediately appear among them. In the end, when all of Imagination is destroyed by a nuclear explosion, the “chosen one” survives and, imagining everything to be as before, enlivens and saves everyone.

In episode 502 , Quiet Butters draws graffiti, and in episode 417, he perfectly paints all the main characters in the series.

Professor Chaos is Butters' second self, which appears after the main characters reject Butters as their new best friend in the eponymous episode . This character is a parody of supervillains from comics (in particular, Doctor Duma and Magneto ), he wears a helmet and a cloak (only parents recognize him in this image), when he appears, “scary” music sounds; however, the atrocities of Professor Chaos do not go beyond confused orders in a restaurant or crumpled linen. Even when Professor Chaos tries to destroy the ozone layer or flood the Earth, it looks like nothing more than a child’s game. And in series 607, it turns out that Professor Chaos is not able to come up with a villainous act that would not be in The Simpsons . However, the Professor of Chaos has assistants - a second-grader of Dougie , who does not want to be laughed at because of his glasses, and takes the name “General Bardak” and “minions” - hamsters, whom Professor Chaos considers villainous creatures. Butters considers the existence of Professor Chaos a terrible secret, however, when he tries to reveal it to Stan in episode 616, he does not even pay attention (thinking that Butters confesses to him homosexuality).

In episode 702, Professor Chaos and General Bardak somehow miraculously end up in the company of supervillains collected by Christopher Reeve . In episode 801, Butters puts on the professor Chaos costume, trying to confront the children who did not take him to play ninja with them. In this episode, Butters gets a serious eye injury, which is probably why Professor Chaos did not appear on the series for a long time; again we see him with General Bardak in 1012 series. The story of Professor Chaos is continued in episode 1302 - now Butters and Doug have their own “Chaos headquarters” - a garage filled with all kinds of “deadly” objects. Butters may now take his role more seriously than before - Professor Chaos is investigating to find out who Raccoon and Misterion really are and not afraid to engage in battle with them - probably the events of episode 1214 significantly improved his self-esteem.

Outside the “image” of Professor Chaos, Butters is practically incapable of insulting or offending anyone: this happens either with those who constantly pester him (mainly with Cartman ), or out of a desire to stand out in front of the same Cartman , posing as a friend ( 808 ) , or in front of the entire company of fourth graders ( 712 ).

With parents

Butters' parents are cruel and oppressive, and sometimes it seems that in fact they are completely indifferent to him. For example, in the 812 series they sell Butters Paris Hilton , explaining that they should take care of “other family members” - that is, about themselves. In episode 602, Jared and his aides parents beat Butters brutally after Cartman, imitating his voice, calling them obscene words on the phone (moreover, Cartman enjoyed this scene). In series 906, parents, thinking that Butters is crazy, send him to terrible sadistic procedures in a clinic. In the same episode, they frighten Butters with the fictitious “super- AIDS ” disease. However, when Stephen and Linda Stotch think that Butters is dead (in episodes 514 and 909 ), they get terribly upset and even try to resurrect him (a parody of S. King’s Pet Cemetery ). However, in 909, when Butters supposedly resurrects from the dead (he pretended to find out a secret from the girls), his parents put him in the basement and try to feed the corpse of a girl specially killed for this.

One of Butters' main fears is to remain under house arrest. However, in spite of his attempts to avoid this, this is regularly happening on a regular basis (and sometimes it’s not at all his fault - for example, it begins to seem to parents for no reason that he makes faces at them. Or because the products are in the pantry not in alphabetical order). Butters especially fears his father, whom he calls “sir,” and tries to obey implicitly. He especially likes to punish his son for nothing. For example, in episode 703, a dialogue occurs:

Butters sometimes tries to escape from excessive “custody” of his parents: for example, in series 703 it turns out that he voluntarily went to jail several times for crimes he did not commit.

Little is known about the other members of the Butters family; however, according to the episode “ SHIKARN-O, ” he has an uncle and aunt in Los Angeles with whom he has a good relationship. Butters sometimes visits them.

In episode 514 , Butters' mother went crazy and tried to drown him by letting the car derail to the river. Butters also has a grandmother, who also does not deny herself the pleasure of mocking him (episode 1605 ).

With classmates

In many episodes, other fourth-graders push Butters and scoff at him. So, in the 406 series, Cartman , who dragged all the children to pedophiles, decides to send Butters to them, so that he "otyshatil for all." In 711, Butters has been sitting in a bomb shelter for more than a week when Cartman tells him about the arrival of a giant comet and the demise of civilization; Cartman's goal is to get into the Mexican restaurant-amusement park Casa Bonita instead of Butters. In episode 802, Cartman, wearing a cardboard outfit, pretends to be a robot, and Butters sincerely believes him. In episode 1102, Cartman shows off a whole photo album in which he stores photographs of Butters with a swab in his mouth, a face smeared with cat feces, and so on. However, Butters believes that Cartman is sincerely friends with him, and calls him to spend the night out of friendly motives, not listening to Kyle's warnings. In other episodes, Cartman also sometimes manipulates Butters, pretending to be his friend: for example, in episodes 808 and 1009 . In the series “ The threat of complacency!” "Butters, when Kyle leaves the city, becomes for Cartman a new object for anti-Semitic jokes, but Cartman does not like Butters' attitude - he accepts this with joy and says with phrases like" shut up, stupid Jew ":" Yes! Starting with the first episode of season six after the "final" death, Kenny Butters replaces Kenny for Stan , Kyle and Cartman . However, Butters, before many other students, learns something about sex life. In episode 613, he watches a pornographic cassette, as a result of which he temporarily goes insane, and in episode 706, after he thinks about Stan’s mother’s chest, he “ pops out a little white liquid ”. Being a sincere, kind and sympathetic child, Butters sometimes commits actions (more precisely, helps others to do them) that do not fit in with his image in the series. But this is not due at all to his indifference. After all, Butters is not only too trusting, he is completely unable to refuse. He can be persuaded to anything, and if he does not believe that it will really be more correct, he will do it simply because he could not say no. Often, he really quickly succumbs to the influence of others and, without thinking about whether he is really right, he seeks to judge in the same way as others judge (as it seems to him). But in any case, it is easier for him to help anyone, even if he doubts whether this is good, than firmly refuse and do not do it at all. Not surprisingly, with all the contempt of his classmates, they value him for his dependability and accommodatingness: in which case he will never demand details, will never inquire about “why” and “why”, and will never refuse.

The most significant example is the episode of The Breast Cancer Show , when Butters, hearing about Cartman’s upcoming fight with Wendy, says: “... I hope there will be a fight.
