Biography
Born October 17, 1975 in the city of Orel .
In 1991, he graduated from high school number 21 in the city of Orel and entered Oryol State Technical University , graduating in 1998 with an engineering degree in the specialty of Radio Electronic Equipment.
Since 1996, obedience was held at the choir of the John the Baptist Church in the city of Orel.
On June 25, 2000, Archbishop Orlovsky and Livensky Paisius ordained a deacon , and on September 11 of that same year - to the rank of presbyter . He carried obedience in the churches of St. John and John the Eagle.
Since 2001 - confessor and organizer of Orthodox shifts in the country camps of the Oryol region , organized jointly with the department of education.
In 2001–2008, he studied at the correspondence sector of the Moscow Theological Seminary .
In January 2003, he was appointed editor of the Oryol Diocesan Gazette. Author of a number of publications and studies, mainly related to the feat of Oryol new martyrs and confessors.
On August 8, 2003, he was appointed head of the skete at the alleged place of the murder of the martyr Kuksha of Pechersk [1] .
In April 2004 for the holiday of Easter he was awarded the right to wear a kamilavka [2] .
On April 1, 2004 at 6:00 pm in the Holy Dormition Monastery of the city of Orel, his abbot Abbot Avvakum (Kazurov) was tonsured as a monk with the name Alexy [1] in honor of St. Alexy, the man of God .
In 2010–2016, he studied at the Moscow Theological Academy , defended his diploma on the topic “The Council of Archpastors of the Land of Oryol”.
On October 4, 2012, by the decision of the Holy Synod (Journal No. 104), he was appointed governor (hegumen) of the newly-formed male monastery of St. Kuksha in the village of Frolovka, Mtsensk District, Oryol Region [3] .
On October 17, 2012, in the Iversky church of the city of Orel, Archbishop Orlovsky and Livensky Anthony (Cheremisov), in pursuance of the decision of the Holy Synod, was elevated to the rank of hegumen . Archbishop Anthony handed him a staff and instructed him to continue to work on the restoration of the monastery [4] .
September 1, 2016 was appointed the dean of the monasteries of the Oryol diocese.

On March 9, 2017, by the decision of the Holy Synod (Journal No. 10), he was elected Bishop of Mtsensk, Vicar of the Oryol Diocese [5] .
On March 13, 2017, the metropolitan of Orlovsky and Bolkhovsky Anthony (Cheremisov) in the Assumption Church of the Assumption Monastery of the city of Orel was elevated to the rank of archimandrite [6] .
On April 8, 2017 in the Throne Hall of the Cathedral Cathedral of Christ the Savior in Moscow, a naming of the bishop took place [7] .
On April 9, 2017, the celebration of the Entry of the Lord into Jerusalem at the Liturgy in the Cathedral of Christ the Savior, was held by the consecration of Archimandrite Alexy to Bishop of Mtsensk [8] .
On April 4, 2019, by the decision of the Holy Synod, he was appointed Bishop of Veliky Ustyug and Totemsky [9] .
