"Alice's Adventures" - a cycle, a series of books by Kir Bulychev in the fiction genre for children, teenagers and adults describing Alice Selezneva's adventures. The books of the cycle were written by the author for several decades, starting in 1965 (the story “The Girl, with which nothing will happen ”) and ending in 2003 (“ Alice and Alicia ”). There is no exact order of books in the series of events described in them, although some researchers attempted to rank the books of the series according to Alice’s estimated age in each of them.
The cycle takes place in the science fiction future of the end of the XXI century . The main character is Alice Selezneva , “a girl from Earth”, the daughter of Igor Seleznev , a professor of biology and director of the zoo CosmoZoo . Each of the stories is dedicated to any of her separate adventure in space, on Earth, in the past or even in the fairy world. A number of books was filmed.
According to Bulychev, the purpose of his series
| ... to find ways to children's literature that would be adequate to generations of children raised by a TV, and then a computer [1] . |
Cycle design involved many artists, but mostly known illustrations of Eugene Migunova .

Alice's World
Alice's adventures take place in a futuristic world, partly operating according to the laws of space opera : superlight ships, robots , aliens, and time travel are commonplace. The land of the future is described as technically developed, with full automation of production. Robots do household chores and dangerous work for humans.
The social structure of the Earth of the future is not specified. In the early books there were hints that it was utopian- communist . In Alice's Journey, the characters say to aliens: "On Earth, money was canceled long ago, we take it with us only to the planets, where they are still used." In later stories written after the collapse of the USSR , even on Earth, money, material values and commercial organizations sometimes appear. At the level of public morality, earthlings in “Alice's Adventures” are significantly ahead of the people of the 20th century : they care about the nature and purity of the environment, do not fight, are ashamed of lies and are much easier to communicate. The population of the Earth is five billion people (“One hundred years ahead”, “Lilac ball”).
The space of “Alice's Adventures” is densely populated by intelligent civilizations that are at different stages of development (only at one conference of cosmoologists gathered representatives from 342 worlds). Their exact list is not reported, leaving the author and reader complete freedom of fantasy. Most often appear brastak, fixants, long-eared batons and Chumarozians (they all live on planets with an atmosphere close to the Earth). Mars is also inhabited, and in addition to colonists from the Earth has the indigenous population. An ambitious project is underway to transfer Venus to a more distant orbit from the Sun with a view to its subsequent settlement (Alice's Journey).
Although the solar system is completely colonized and safe, the deep space of Adventures is full of mysteries and dangers, such as artifacts and bases of the disappeared race of Wanderers. In the first stories about space travel of Alice, the Galaxy was a relatively safe place: space pirates were considered destroyed, there was no mention of any militant or emphasized anti-human planets or states. In later works in space, space pirates and slave traders continue to operate actively, and entire planets under the rule of cruel tyrants are mentioned. In contrast, there is InterGpol, headed by Commissioner Milodar. One of the important factors in the books is the time machine invented by earthlings, allowing you to move into the past and even slightly influence it. Thus, the staff of the Institute of Time copied books from the Library of Alexandria and the second volume of Gogol's “ Dead Souls ”. In addition, through time travel, it was discovered that the Age of Tales existed between the Ice Age (Age of Legends). In this epoch, the characters of children's fairy tales, such as dragons , wizards and giants, really existed on Earth. Part of Alice’s adventures takes place during her travels to the Fairy Tale Epoch, giving the cycle a hint of fantasy .
Planets
The action of the books takes place both on the Earth of the future and on other planets. Most of the planets appear in the works more than once, some have no names.
Characters in the cycle of books about Alice
The only permanent character in the cycle is Alice herself. However, Alice has satellites that appear in books regularly. This is, first of all, her best friends Pashka Geraskin , Arkasha Sapozhkov and other classmates. Alice’s father, Professor Igor Seleznev, appears almost as often. A large role in a number of narratives is played by the alien Gromozek , an archaeologist from the planet Chumarosa.
Negative characters are rarely repeated, with the exception of a pair of space pirates - Rats and Merry U. Being defeated, in the following stories, they miraculously come to freedom again and continue their dark deeds.
Among the characters of the third plan there are many colorful and memorable robots, aliens, reasonable and not very animals and residents of the Epoch of Legends.
Moscow Institute of Time
One of the main places in which the adventures of the heroes of the cycle take place or from which they begin. Located in Moscow in Sivtsev Vrazhek lane.
At the Moscow Institute of Time, they are working on the creation of different types of time machines and units close to it, as well as exploring history. Among the discoveries of the institute of time is the Epoch of Legends, a short period of time between the third and fourth Ice Age, when creatures actually existed that later became considered fictional: dragons, giants, wizards, gnomes, etc. Of the creatures taken out of the Epochs of fairy tales, composed The reserve of fairy tales, where fabulous creatures can live in peace and entertain children without fear of the onset of the Ice Age.
Autonomous cycles of stories, in most of the books of which events begin in this institution - “Alice's Adventures in the Mazes of History” and the cycle about the Fairy Tale Reserve and the Epoch of Legends , as well as some episodes of the series of adventures of the agent of the InterGalactic Police Cortex Orvat . For the first time, MIV is mentioned in the story “His Man in the Past” from the collection Girl with whom nothing will happen , but appears directly in the story One Hundred Years Ahead . There is a sub-cycle “Alice's Adventures in the Labyrinths of History”, in the books of which Alice or her friends find themselves in a different time thanks to MIV. All of them are written in the chrono-op genre.

The time sequence described in the books of the event cycle
There is no official timeline for the stories.
The researcher of Alisa Seleznyova’s biography, Andrei Busygin, after analyzing all the novels and stories about her, was able to determine the approximate chronology and link the events that took place in them to the future dates:
- The girl with whom nothing will happen: 2083-2086
- Fairy Tale Reserve: Spring 2087
- Kozlik Ivan Ivanovich: Spring 2087
- Alice's Journey: Summer 2088
- Repeaters: Autumn 2088 - Spring 2089
- Island of Rusty Lieutenant: June 2089
- Alice's Birthday: Autumn 2089
- Purple ball: winter 2089-2090
- Asteroid Prisoners: July 2090
- One hundred years ahead: April 2091
- Million Adventures: Spring - Summer 2091
- Prisoners of the Yamagiri-Maru: Spring 2092
- End of Atlantis: Spring 2092
- Guy-do: July 2092
- A city without memory: August 2092 [2]
- Alice and the Crusaders: September 2092
This dating, of course, is not indisputable, and in some cases contradicts what has been said in the books themselves. For example, in the “City without memory” it is directly indicated that a year has passed since the end of “Guy-to”, and Alice and Pashka could not visit Guy-to because of the events of “The End of Atlantis”. Also in the novel “Alice's Adventures” there is a mention that the action takes place in 2074, while in “The End of Atlantis” Alice says that now is the year 2088.
