Sosnin, Nikolai Nikolaevich

Nikolai Nikolaevich Sosnin (real name - Soloviev) was born on April 23 (May 5), 1884 in Moscow in the family of an employee. For two years he studied at the architectural department of the Moscow School of Painting, Sculpture and Architecture .

He began his stage activity in 1906 in Nikolaev. In 1914-1916 - at the Moscow Drama Theater of Sukhodolsky under the direction of I. E. Duvan and A. A. Sanin . In 1917-1924 he played in the Kiev Russian Solovtsov Theater (since 1919 - the Second State Drama Theater of the Ukrainian SSR named after Lenin). In 1924-1930 he performed at the theaters of Astrakhan, Voronezh, Simferopol .

In 1930-1931 - at the Kiev Russian Drama Theater .

In 1931 he moved to Moscow, played in the Korsh Theater . In April 1933 he was invited to the Moscow Art Theater (on the recommendation of M.P. Lilina , who saw him at the Korsh Theater). K. Stanislavsky believed that the invitee could to some extent become a replacement for the often ill V. I. Kachalov and the deceased V. A. Sinitsyn . After that, in 1933-1959 he was an actor of the Moscow Art Theater , where he played 21 roles.

He died on November 26, 1962 in Moscow, was buried at the Novodevichy cemetery .
