Biography
Born in 1911 in a peasant family in the village of Chon-Bagysh (today - the Nooken district of the Osh region). In the 1930s, he joined the Communism collective farm in the Leninsky district. He participated in the Great Patriotic War. After demobilization, he returned to Kyrgyzstan, where he continued as a cottonman on the collective farm "Communism" of the Leninsky district. From 1959 he headed the cotton brigade on the same collective farm.
The Kamala Sultanova brigade annually achieved high rates of cotton cultivation and completed the tasks of the Eighth Five-Year Plan (1966-1970) ahead of schedule. By decree of the Presidium of the Supreme Soviet of the USSR of April 8, 1971, he was awarded the title Hero of Socialist Labor with the award of the Order of Lenin and the Sickle and Hammer gold medal.
In 1976, the Kamala Sultanov brigade collected an average of 55.8 centners of raw cotton on a 75-hectare site. For these outstanding labor achievements, he was awarded the State Prize of the Kyrgyz SSR.
