Geographical position
Kishtav is located in the north-east of Badakhshan, in the highlands, on the left bank of the Vahandarya River, near the confluence of the Baikar River, about 294 kilometers east of the city of Fayzabad , the administrative center of Vilayat. The absolute height is 3700 meters above sea level [1] . The nearest settlements are the village of Kumityk (upstream of the Wahandarya), the village of Langar (downstream of the Wahandarya).
