Vasily Viktorovich Sokolov ( January 10, 1938 , p. Ust-Barga, Krasnoyarsk Territory - March 10, 2016 , Abakan , Republic of Khakassia ) - Soviet, Russian theater figure, director, artist. He was awarded the AUCCTU sign "For achievements in amateur art" (1978). Laureate of the Presidential Prize for Supporting Russian Theater Initiatives of the Council on Culture and Art under the President of the Russian Federation (2010).

Biography
For the first time he played on the stage in his school years in the play "Not All the Cat Shrovetide" by A. Ostrovsky. After graduating from the Minusinsk Cultural and Educational School, he led drama groups. In 1964 he entered the correspondence directing department of the Higher Theater School. B.V. Schukin. The director’s diploma was defended by staging a play by T. Williams at the Minusinsk Drama Theater (1969), where he remained to work. He taught directing at the Minusinsk Cultural Enlightenment College [1] .
In 1973-1983 - director of the Ust-Abakan Folk Theater. The play “Deadline” according to V. Rasputin is a laureate of the Khakass regional (1975), regional (1976), All-Russian (Chita, 1976), All-Union (Moscow, 1977) festivals. From 1976 to 2001 - the main director of the Rampa Theater. The performance “Hamlet” is a laureate of amateur art festivals: the Khakass regional, Krasnoyarsk regional, all-Russian, all-Union, international “Theater Experiments”. For this production he is listed in the international encyclopedia "Who is who in science, technology and culture."
The play “Blue Horses on Red Grass” by M. Shatrova is a laureate of the All-Union Amateur Art Exhibition dedicated to the 40th anniversary of the Victory of the Soviet people in the Great Patriotic War. (1985). The play “Requiem” (1990) is a laureate of the All-Russian (Ulan-Ude, 1990) and All-Union (Kaluga, 1992) amateur art festivals. In total, he has performed more than 80 performances on the amateur and professional stage in the theaters of Minusinsk , Tomsk , Krasnoyarsk , Abakan . The author of two television films (State TV and Radio Company “Khakassia”): “In More often” (1995), “Muzgarko” (2000) [2] .
In the early 2000s, he created the Red Square Theater Studio, where he worked until the last days of his life.
He was awarded the AUCCTU sign "For achievements in amateur art" (1978). Laureate of the Presidential Prize for Supporting Russian Theater Initiatives of the Council on Culture and Art under the President of the Russian Federation (2010).
