She was born in 1909 in a peasant family in the village of Aleksandrovka, Kharkov province. She began her labor activity at the Leningrad Chemical Plant. After the start of World War II, she was evacuated to Kyrgyzstan, where she worked since 1943 as a laborer at the Nizhne-Chuisky state farm in the Kaganovichi district. Since 1946, she headed the kenaf cultivation link.
In 1949, Maria Prikhodko's link collected an average of 113.7 centners of kenaf on a 20-hectare site. By a decree of the Presidium of the Supreme Soviet of the USSR of July 10, 1950, she was awarded the title of Hero of Socialist Labor with the awarding of the Order of Lenin and the Gold Hammer and Sickle Medal.
After retirement, she lived in the village of Tomonku-Chui (Tөmөnkү Chүy) where she died in 1993.
