History
The house, designed by the architect Dupont de Larue in the style of classicism, was built at the beginning of the 19th century on 12 Schmidt Street. For more than two hundred years of history, the mansion changed its owners and its purpose many times. In 1810, the building became the property of Pavel Daro, who, according to surviving data, permanently lived in another city. From 1890 to 1906, the property was the property of the Italian filed Ivan Ruffo, and from 1915 belonged to the Belgian filed Victor Wilhelm Keren. Then, the Belgian consul lived for some time in this house [1] . In 1992, the object was recognized as a monument of architecture, history and culture of local importance [2] .
Description
The house is one-story, it was designed taking into account the basement for storing grain. The facade of the house is divided into three parts, which differ from each other in architectural techniques. Four half-columns highlight the central part of the facade, they support the pediment with a cornice, which is decorated with crackers . The general traction cornice is located above the side windows, and the windows in the center are decorated with panel decoration. The main entrance to the house was located not in the center, but on the left [1] .
