Biography
Born on August 2, 1897 in the village of Verkhny Lomovets, Zemlyansky district of the Voronezh district (now the village of Verkhny Lomovets, Dolgorukovsky district of the Lipetsk region). He died in 1961 in the city of Novorossiysk.
Before being drafted into the tsarist army he helped his father in peasant farming.
At the age of 19, he passed the accelerated courses of non-commissioned officers and got on the German front.
After the October events in 1917, he took the side of the Bolsheviks and volunteered for the Red Army. Finished school commanders. He took part in battles against generals Denikin, Mamontov and Shkuro.
In 1935 he was awarded the rank of Major, was the head of the regimental school of the Caucasian Rifle Regiment.
At the beginning of the Great Patriotic War, he took command of the 157th rifle division , from 1943 - the 271st rifle division . During the war, he participates in the Melitopol operation , the holding of Ak-Monai positions, in the defense of Sivash , in the capture of the city of Brownsberg, in the storming of Koenigsberg .
He graduated from the war as a general (May 4, 1945 - given the rank of major general), has been wounded.
