Career

Club

The pupil of " Kaunas ". In 1993 he moved to “ Inkaras ”, for which he played for five seasons. In 1998, together with his teammate Daryus Sanaevas, he moved to the Russian “ Alania ” [1] , for which he made his debut in the Russian championship on May 13 of the same year in the 8th round match against Volgograd “ Rotor ”, leaving the 87th minute of the meeting at replacement of Raimondas Zhutautas [2] . In 2000, he played for Lipetsk Metallurg , the next year he returned to Kaunas. Six-time champion of Lithuania in the Kaunas clubs Inkaras, Zalgiris and FBK, two-time winner of the Lithuanian Cup . In 2002, he became the top scorer of the national championship with 19 goals.

In addition, he played for Inkaras in the Lithuanian futsal championship.

Team

The only time I entered the field as part of the Lithuanian national team on July 31, 1996 in a friendly match against the national team of Belarus , replacing Eimantas Poderis in the 46th minute [3] .

Death

On July 27, 2003, near the village of Zhigdryai , Kaunas County, a fifth-series BMW car, which was driving Shlyakis, rolled off the highway and rolled over. From a header the footballer died on the spot [4] [5] .
