Strelnikov, Dmitry Alexandrovich (scientist)

Dmitry Alexandrovich Strelnikov (October 23 (November 4), 1881, the village of Presnovskaya, Petropavlovsk Uyezd, Akmola Region - December 5, 1964, Tomsk) - Russian, Soviet scientist, specialist in the field of mining. Among his students are 15 Heroes of Socialist Labor.

Born in the family of an official.

He graduated from the Omsk Gymnasium (with a silver medal), then - the mining department of the Tomsk Technological Institute (1908, first graduation).

In 1909 he began teaching at the Tomsk Commercial School, from 1912 to 1929 - the head of the mining department. Since 1920, he also taught at TPI , since 1925 - associate professor, since 1927 - professor.

In 1930-1933, the deputy director for scientific work, the head of the mining and exploration department of the Research Institute "Kuzbassugol".

In 1940 he was awarded the title of Doctor of Sciences.

Community Work

1939-1947 - Member of the Kirov District Council of Tomsk.

Rewards

In 1948, he was awarded the personal title of Mining General Director of the III rank, in 1948 - the title "Honored Worker of Science and Technology of the RSFSR".

He was awarded the Order of Lenin (1948). the Order of the Red Banner of Labor (1946), the Order of the Red Star (1944), the medal "For Valiant Labor in the Great Patriotic War of 1941-1945", the badge "Mining Glory" of the 1st degree.
