Brunel University of London is a public research university located in , London , UK . Founded in 1966, it was named after Victorian engineer Isambard Brunel .

Brunel's campus is located on the outskirts of Uxbridge. It consists of three colleges and three large research institutes, the structure was adopted in August 2014, which also changed the name of the university to “Brunel University in London”. Brunel has over 12,900 students and 2,500 employees. Between 2014 and 2015, total revenue was £ 200.7 million, of which 25% were grants and research contracts.
Brunel University is a member of the Association of Commonwealth Universities , the Association of European Universities and Universities of Great Britain .

History
In 1957, Brunel College was separated from Acton Technical College and focused on training engineers.
In 1960, Brunel’s Technology College was awarded the status
In 1962, the Advanced Technology College became the Brunel Advanced Technology College.
In June 1966, Brunel's Advanced Technology College was awarded the Royal Charter and became Brunel University of London. It is sometimes called the British " glass university ."
Campus
In the late 1990s, Brunel University developed a 10-year master plan worth £ 250 million for the campus. This included selling off-campus locations in , Osterley, and Twickenham, and using sales revenue to repair and upgrade buildings and structures on the Uxbridge campus. Work done included expanding the library, a modern sports complex, renovated student union facilities, a new health education center, and the construction of more dormitories.
The Brunel campus (especially those buildings in the 1960s brutalism -style architecture) appeared in several films, most notably in Stanley Kubrick's Clockwork Orange , most of which were shot on campus. It has also been featured in several British television series, including The Phantoms , The Silent Witness , and Inspector Morse. [3]
Organization and Management
Brunel University exists by virtue of a royal charter, first granted in 1966, and has the status of a , as defined by the Charity Act of 2006 [4] .
The governing body is the Council, which consists of university staff, students and independent members. The Council appoints the Vice Chancellor and other senior officials. The Council has a number of committees that support its work.
Brunel’s academic body is the Senate , headed by the Vice Chancellor. The Senate has a number of committees that support its work.
Academics
Brunel students have access to specialized laboratories for electronic imaging, , and experimental equipment; flight simulators, car and train driving simulators; 3D body scanner ; motion capture equipment; occupational therapy complex; sports and performing facilities; academic archives in cult films and modern writing [5] .
Depending on the course taken, many students can choose practical placement and projects as an integral part of their courses (a fundamental principle of the structure of the degree of a sandwich).
Student life
Brunel Student Union
The Brunel Student Union is the student government of Brunel University [6] . The union is based at the Hamilton Center on the Uxbridge campus.
Among other services, the Union operates two sites on Brunel's campus: the Venue nightclub, the Loco bar [7] .
The Union is headed by fourteen democratically elected student staff - six student officers, four chairmen of the Standing Committee and six chairpersons of working groups - with the support of more than thirty professional staff members [6] .
