Bungas [5] ( Latvian Bungas [4] , Bungi [6] ; Lat . Bungys [7] ; obsolete. Bundy [1] , Bungi [2] , Bungov [3] ) - settlement (group of farms) in the east Latvia . It is located in the central part of Makonkalnsky volost , in the south of Rezekne district . It is located near Lake Bungu , on the right bank of the Malta River, 6.5 km southwest of the administrative center of the volost - the village of Lipushki [8] [4] .

Population
As of 2015, according to the Office of Citizenship and Migration Affairs of the Ministry of the Interior of the Republic of Latvia, 1 person lived in the territory of the Bungas settlement [4] .
In 2009, the population of Bungas was 2 people [4] [9] , in 2003 - less than 10 people [7] .
History
At the beginning of the 20th century, Bunga outpost belonged to the Dorotpol society of the Andrepnensky volost of the Rezhitsky district of the Vitebsk province. According to the List of Populated Places of the Vitebsk Province of 1906, it consisted of three courtyards, in which 23 people lived (10 men and 13 women) [10] .
