Wichmann I the Elder ( German: Wichmann I. der Ältere ; c. 900 - April 23, 944) - Count in Bardengau and Wigmodia (on the Weser between Bremen and northern Hadeln).

The representative of the Billung clan, the elder brother of the Duke of Saxony German Billung . His other brother, Amelung, was Bishop of Ferden.
In 936, Otto I the Great appointed Herman Billung princeps militiae - Margrave, entrusting him control over the border with the lands of the Slavs. Wichmann I, as the eldest in the family, felt left out and quarreled with the king, but they soon reconciled.
Wichmann I was married to Frederun (d. 971), daughter of Count Theoderich of the Immedinger family, sister of Queen Matilda , wife of Henry I Ptitselov . He received land as a dowry on the middle Weser, Lower Rhine and in Lipp, significantly expanding his possessions.

- Bruno (920/2 - January 26, 976), Bishop of Ferden since 962
- Gedvig (Khatui) (939 - July 9, 1014). She was married (952) to Siegfried, son of Margrave of the Saxon East mark Hero I. After the death of her husband (959) - a nun, abbess in Gernrode and Wreden.
