VNBA season 2007 - became the 11th season of the Women's National Basketball Association (VNBA) , after which the Phoenix Mercury team became the champion for the first time. From this season, the prize for the best sixth player began to be awarded.

13 clubs took part in the regular season , one less than in the past, as in the offseason, on January 3, 2007 , the Charlotte Sting team was disbanded. On April 4, in Cleveland, during the 2007 VNBA draft, Phoenix Mercury was chosen by point guard Lindsay Harding of Duke University , but on the same day she was exchanged for Tangela Smith in Minnesota Links . Under the second number at that draft, the San Antonio Silver Stars Club selected center Jessica Davenport from Ohio State University , which was also exchanged that same day for Becky Hammon at New York Liberty .
The season started on May 19 with last year’s finalists match between Detroit Shock and Sacramento Monarchs , in which Shock won with a score of 75:68. On July 15, the All-Star Match took place at the Veraison Center in Washington, DC , in which the Eastern Conference team replayed the Western Conference team with a score of 103: 99. The MVP of this match was recognized by the center “Detroit Shock” Cheryl Ford , which in 27 minutes spent on the floor, gathered a collection of 16 points, 13 rebounds and 5 assists for the East team. That year’s regular season ended on August 19, with MVP recognized by Lauren Jackson of Seattle Storm . The San Antonio Silver Stars club mentor, Dan Hughes , was recognized as the coach of the year , and Arminti Price , third draft pick from Chicago Sky , was the rookie of the year . Officially, the 2007 season ended on September 16 , when the Phoenix Mercury outplayed the final game in a decisive game to three victories from last year's Detroit Shock winner, and Mercury quarterback Cappie Pondexter was recognized as the final MVP .
