Biography

A pupil of the St. Petersburg swimming school "Locomotive", trained by Lyubov Anatolyevna Kosyanenko. In 2012, he became the silver medalist of the CIS Cup in Minsk at a distance of 50 meters in classic fins among juniors, fulfilling the standard of a candidate for master of sports of Russia with a result of 21.97 seconds.

In 2013, in the junior category he participated in world cups at distances of 50, 100 and 200 meters in classic fins. At the World Cup in France, Streich Leo took second place at 50 meters in classic fins and third place at 100 meters in classic fins among juniors. He made his debut at the CIS Cup among juniors, taking two first places at distances of 50 and 100 meters in classic fins.

In 2014, he won two gold medals among juniors, two silver and a bronze medal at the stages and finals of the World Cup in Hungary, Italy and Poland at distances of 50, 100 and 200 meters in classic fins. At the Russian championship among juniors he won a bronze medal at a distance of 50 meters classic flippers, becoming a reserve for the world championship among juniors.

In 2015 he made his debut in all competitions of the season. At the Russian Cup in the city of Balakovo, Leo set a new record for Russia among juniors at a distance of 50 meters in classic fins - 19.90.

He became the absolute champion of St. Petersburg and the winner of the St. Petersburg championship in speed swimming at distances: 50, 100 and 200 meters in classic fins; 50, 100, 200 meters in the fins, as well as 50 meters diving in the fins, setting a new country record at a distance of 50 meters in classic fins among juniors, exceeding the world record, Europe and Russia - 19.76, but the record was not officially recorded from -for the low rank of competition. At the 2015 World Cup stage in Barcelona, ​​he became a three-time winner among juniors at distances of 50, 100 and 200 meters in classic fins, setting an official Russian record of 19.84 among juniors. Participating in the championship of Russia in 2015 in St. Petersburg among juniors, Leo became the absolute champion in classic fins at distances of 50, 100 and 200 meters in classic fins. At his distance (50 meters in classic flippers) he set a new record for Russia, exceeding the world and Europe record (the world and Europe record at that time was 19.79), swimming 19.70 in the preliminary races and 19.78 in the final race. Fulfilled the norm of a master of sports of Russia of international class at distances of 50 meters in classic fins (19.70) and 100 meters in classical fins (43.82) at the 2015 Russian Championship in St. Petersburg, but the standard was not assigned, since it was not an international start.

At the European Championships 2015 in Serbia, in the city of Belgrade among juniors, he got into the top three only at a distance of 200 meters swimming classic flippers. At the 2015 World Cup finals in Egypt, Cairo among the juniors won three victories at distances from 50 meters to 200 meters in classic fins. At the same time, Streich received the cup of the best athlete among juniors in classic flippers in the world of this year.

At the end of November 2017, he took part in the French championship for men in the city of Antibes, speaking for the Pays d'Aix Natation Marseille club, where he won three awards of the highest standard at distances: 50, 100 and 200 meters in classic fins. He took part in the 2017 CIS Cup, winning three gold medals at distances of 50, 100 and 200 meters in classic fins among men, while setting three competition records.

On June 16, 2018, at the World Championships in Belgrade, he won a gold medal in the Russian national team in the mixed relay of 4 100 meters in classic fins with a score of 2 minutes 58.04, setting a new world and European record. On June 17, 2018, at the World Championships in Belgrade, he won a bronze medal at a distance of 200 meters in classic fins, showing a result of 1 minute 36.12 seconds.

On December 17, the Committee on Physical Culture and Sports of St. Petersburg presented the names of the ten best athletes and the ten best trainers of St. Petersburg in 2018 - laureates of the award of the City Government, the honorary badge "Best in St. Petersburg Sports". Shtreikh Lev Aleksandrovich entered the top ten athletes of the city, and Stepanova Maria Pavlovna entered the top ten best coaches of the city.

He graduated from high school No. 341 of the Nevsky district of the city of St. Petersburg with honors (gold medal). At the moment, he is a student at the North-West Institute of Management of the Russian Academy of National Economy and Public Administration under the President of the Russian Federation .
